In Artigas people gather to watch ?a religious image? on a shop floor

Maria Tona de Rogantini from Artiga declares to have received a divine sign representing the Holy family, when she noticed a spot on her house floor. Dozens of people went to watch this image. On 2nd April, at 7:00 a.m. the lady went to open the shop in her own house, located in Batalla plaza, in the centre of Artigas and noticed different images appeared on the floor near the fridge.
She told El Pais that at first she spotted the Virgin Mary next to an angel, then she realised that it rather looked like the holy family with Joseph, infant Jesus and the Madonna.
?I was amazed?, I started sweeping the floor and singing since I needed to vent it out, but no one was around at that time.
?I realised it was the anniversary of John Paul II death. Also, the images appeared just before the start of the holy week. This is a divine message for Artigas and its people?, said Tona.
She then took pictures to show to father Jos? de Bella Uni?n, who also recognised the holy family escaping to Egypt before King Herod ordered the massacre of the innocents.
Very emotional she was when revealing that she had wiped the floor several times with bleach, yet the image remained there very sharp.
As the news was announced by radio and TV, her house became a place for pilgrimage.
?People touch the image, get emotional, I am really touched for what happened in my house?. The day after, Bishop Monsignor Pablo Galimberti was brought there to help deciphering the sign.
He reminded that when he was in the Diocese of San Jos? in Libertad, people used to see the Christ?s face on a tree in front of the cemetery. ?These occurrences have a strong subjective impact. It is the faith of the individual to let an image represent a divine figure?.
