OUR LADY CRIES, MOVES HER HEAD AND OPENS HER MOUTH
It is a small statue, about 30 cm tall,
the Immaculate Conception of the Miraculous Medal
Salta (Argentina). In early February, a statue of St. Catherine wept blood at Las Lajitas, in the San Antonio district.
This is the second phenomenon that manifested in this province this year. They say that the little statue of the Virgin Mary cries blood, opens her mouth and lowers her head as if she is praying. The images are shocking.
Brick walls without plaster. Candles and roses frame the scene. A small table and two plaster statues: a lively coloured St. George and the Immaculate Mary of the Miraculous Medal with a blue and white coat. It seems sad, inconsolable.
The nearby neighbourhood of Santa Ana ensured that the image of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal wept tears of blood. Lourdes, owner of the small statue, was interviewed by El Digital Tribuno. The first time that she casually noticed something strange, it was on the 11th of this month, the day of Our Lady of Lourdes: "I noticed that her eyes were so dark." "It was a day like any other," she says. "During the day I double checked it and I saw something bad?. She was watching television when she began to feel ill. ?I felt the urgent need to see what happened to the Virgin?. She shouted to her mother to look at her. So she saw it for the first time. A red tear shed on the cheek of the statue.
Since then the picture began to change facial expressions and head position. The photos show her with the mouth open or in prayer position and her head bowed. "It's amazing to see how the face changes," said Lourdes excited.
"Our Lady's sad. When they gave it to me, she did not have this expression. Her face was very beautiful", recalled Lourdes. "She is sending us a message. She wants us getting better as people, but we have to begin in our own house".
Lourdes and her family said that since the beginning of the phenomenon, the neighbours went to the site to pray or simply to see it.
"Many feel peace when they arrive and face the statue".
Lourdes remembered that a friend gave her the statue the week before December 8th 2010, the day of the Immaculate Conception." Since that moment I felt we have become friends."
When El Tribuno left Lourdes' house, some neighbours were waiting to see the Virgin. Four children were praying silently.
