CROP CIRCLE OF PRUDENT?POLIS, BRAZIL: FIELD RESEARCH AND ITS FINDINGS

On the afternoon of the 27th September 2016, the UFO magazine received an e-mail from Rudolf Schier informing us about the appearance of a possible agroglyphe or crop circle, nearby the city of Prudent?polis, 200 kilometers from the city of Curitiba. Later, a video was also sent by Mr. Tito Santini, from Prudent?polis, to the same magazine showing the images of the supposed agroglyphe. Santini is the owner of the land where the same phenomenon happened last year, on 6th October 2015, another event also investigated by the researchers of the Ufo magazine.
Initial analyses on photos and video received pointed to the strong possibility that the agroglyphe was authentic, namely of non-human origin, but this, of course, could not be a definitive appraisal, obtained only by a field research "on the spot", in the place where the phenomenon appeared. Therefore, the director of the UFO magazine A.J. Gevaerd and the co-editor Toni inajar Kurowski, planned to go to the land on the outskirts of Prudent?polis on 28th September 2016. Gevaerd has been investigating the phenomenon of crop circles for about 20 years, both in Brazil and in Europe, while Kurowski is a crime scene expert at the Civil Police in Paran?, and has become an expert in the analyses of the figures called "crop circles".
On 28th September, Gevaerd and Kurowski, arrived in Prudent?polis at around 10:00 am and went straight to the "Star" farm, owned by Mr. Eder Renato Rickli, to the terrains where the pictogram appeared. The farm is located at 6 or 7 kilometers from the city center. In order to reach the exact location where the pictogram is, Gevaerd and Kurowski, first traveled through a paved road and then through a path of agrarian penetration. The property sits along this path and the agroglyphe was about 200 meters from the road, remaining partly visible from that place.

Field Research
The field research carried out by Gevaerd and Kurowski consisted in entering the figure and examining all of its elements, thus analyzing their characteristics and trying to determine their nature. Since the beginning it was noted that many of the figurative patterns found in the agriglyphes over the past eight years in Brazil and in the last 40 years all over the world, considered genuine, were equal and unmistakably present in the figure of Prudent?polis. Samples of plants and soil were also collected, both from inside and outside of the agroglyphe area. These tests will be made later.
It was made the measurement of each of the elements that compose the figure, which are: an outer ring of a meter in width by 64 meters in diameter, within which is located a second minor ring and, within this, a figure formed by a flower with six "petals". Each "petal" has a length of about 20 meters and all the petals appear perfectly aligned with the center of the figure; the general view is quite impressive and spectacular. But let's go on.
Intersected with the external ring, there are in symmetrical positions, two circles, one of 8 meters in diameter and one of 12 meters to the south part of the figure, and a ring of 12.5 meters in diameter, to the north area. The agroglyphe, inter alia, shows a North-South orientation.

Features of the phenomenon
In the two rings surrounding the six petals, in the ring intersecting the larger ring and in the two circles, the plants are folded in an anti-clockwise direction. Already in the petals there is something of considerable complexity: there the plants are folded in parallel among them and from the outside to the inside of each figure, in order to point towards the center of the totality. However, in the edges, at the right of each petal, when it is observed from the above center, there is a large strip from 20 to 30 centimeters, of plants folded in the opposite direction to the other plants. An element that denotes the originality according the evaluation of Gevaerd.
This is a wheat plantation and still too premature for the harvest, conspicuously green. Plants are about 1 meter high, and their ears are in very good conditions. The terrain is practically all levelled, with only few waves from one area to another, nothing of significant. They cut across the huge figure, which has a total of 64 meters in diameter, traces of tractor tires, which is absolutely normal in any kind of plantation cultivated with wheat. It is from there that the fertilizers and substances for the medicament of the plantation are applied.
The examination of the characteristics and of the figure of the agroglyphe, as already said, plus the total absence of human signs, such as footprints, traces of soil perforations, cars or tractors except those described above etc., has led us to the conclusion that this phenomenon is unmistakably authentic. All the research was followed by analyses to find any electrical and magnetic anomalies inside the figure, using a compass and a detector of electromagnetic field variation. The result from both the devices was negative. No anomalies were found in these areas of interest.

The examination, the analyses, the measurements and the study on the agroglyphe, already considered as authentic, took about 2 hours and were interrupted at noon and a half for lunch and meetings with some people at the city hall of Prudent?polis.
Going back to the field, at 2:00 p.m., so just two hours later, Gevaerd and Kurowski noted the presence, about 15 meters from the figure, between this and the road, of new elements not previously seen. An analysis of these new elements, measurements and examination, brought to the definition that they represent the numbers "4" and "3", thus clearly forming the number "43". This has raised the suspicion that this number could be added to the original agroglyphe during the two hours in which the researchers were absent from the field. The suspicion is reinforced by the fact that we are to the proximity of the elections and there is a politician from Prudent?polis, Saviski Nene, who is a candidate for the Green Party, to the Prefecture, just with the number 43. Therefore, these new elements, which also appear in the aerial filming, are not considered as part of the original agroglyphe so they should be considered false. In the second part of the inspection of the researchers at the crop circle, and then for about three hours, new analyses and appraisals have been made to the agroglyphe and its surroundings, and it was filmed from the sky by a Phantom 3 PRO drone, equipped with a full HD and 4K camera. Both methods have been used for the films and the photos obtained. The operator of the drone is a businessman from Ponta Grossa, Rodrigo Bobek. The cost of the service, paid by the Ufo magazine whose director is Gevaerd, was $ 750.00 Brazilian Reales, corresponding to about ? 200.

The point of view of the farmer, owner of the field
After the shooting and all the other analyses were ended, Gevaerd and Kurowski left the field with the pictogram for Curitiba destination. Later, both of them were surprised with the statements of the owner of the field, Mr. Eder Renato Rickli, according to whom the agroglyphe would be false. He said through the press: "They are things made by those who have time to waste. I have investigated. Through the security cameras of the BR company that manages the highway cameras, I saw a van and I recognized the number plate, they are my colleagues, it is a fake. They told me that one day they would have done a figure in my plantation, as well as they did last year in another field (Not his, Editor's note)?.
The statements of the owner are so contradictory, unsustainable and absurd, but they had already been, in part, expected by Gevaerd because, on the 27th , when the editor called the businessman, he tried to dissuade him from going to Prudent?polis and doing the field research. Unsuccessful attempt. Mr. Rickli told Gevaerd by telephone that "they were things did by friends who joined together and created a" Trojan horse "on his plantation." He also said he did not believe that there was something extraordinary in the figure. Mr. Rickli is wrong and his attitude was seen as an attempt to "close the case", by denigrating the agroglyphe in order to have no more disturb and intruders on his property, and because he is also skeptical about these phenomenona.
Two moments of the field research
Obvious Contradictions
Contradictions are obvious, starting with the fact that the agroglyphe is located about 200 meters from the road, as it has already been said, the farm is 6 or 7 kilometers from the center of Prudent?polis and, actually, at 20 km from the above BR ? 277 highway.
Secondly, the statement of the owner who would have seen a van and its number plate through the security cameras is not sustainable, simply because there are no security cameras in that stretch of BR- 277. And if there were them, how Mr. Rickli could have had access to them and in a such sort period of time? Moreover, the assertion that his friends would have been responsible of the agroglyphe of the 2015 appeared in the property of Tito Santini, figure studied by UFO magazine even on that occasion, is even more absurd, because the same was given as authentic.
The comment that it is about "things done by those who have time to waste" proves the skeptical attitude of Mr. Eder Renato Rickli, with a tendency to prejudices about the theme. He even suggested to other periodicals that the ufologists themselves that investigate on these subjects are the ones who have time to waste.
